The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of Northwest Florida is a non-profit organization solely devoted to educating, counseling, and providing referrals and information to anyone who wants it. NCADD of NWFL is state-licensed to provide prevention, education and out-patient services. NCADD of NWFL will be happy to provide an expert in all aspects of combating addiction and assisting families to speak to groups of any size or affiliation to provide understanding and direction regarding available resources that may not be widely known. EDUCATION, INFRMATION,HELP AND HOPESince 1944, theNational Council on Alcoholismand Drug Dependence has been a leader in the effort to raise public awareness about alcoholism. As the oldest advocacy organization in the country addressing alcoholism and drug dependence, NCADD works at the national level on policy issues related to barriers in education, prevention and treatment for alcoholics and drug dependent persons and their families.
She articulated three fundamentalorganizational concepts that haveinformed the development of modern alcoholism treatment:Alcoholism is a disease, andthe alcoholic is a sick person;The alcoholic can be helpedand is worth helping;This is a public health problemand a public responsibility.
